![]() Be sure to also check out screenshots from our latest version on the Release gifs page! I’ll be describing the levels slightly out of order, since our tutorial level actually acts as a simplified combination of each of the other levels. My vision for the Menagerie series simply isn't possible to make on a budget of zero anymore, and I don't feel sorry for wanting it to be great. We’ve given some developer comments as we’ve released each of our levels with a sort of high level description, but today I’m going to go into a bit more detail as to the reasons behind creating each of our levels, as well as how they work together. I could do that, of course – but it would also mean that I would never be able to make the games I actually want to make now. I can't be expected to make free games all my life. This is not the case with the remakes, though – I would spend months of my life focusing on just them, polishing them to shit to make sure they are worth their asking price. ![]() I made them with the intention of putting them out there for free, and I still think they should always be free. I've never sold anything – Exoptable Money, Presentable Liberty and Menagerie: Archive were all free, because I don't feel like they justify a price tag. Some people seem to think that putting a price on art lessens it, but I believe that it simply shows that the creator thinks it is worth it. Of course, once they're done, I still won't give them away for free like the originals, because I believe they will warrant their asking price. I'm making a Kickstarter because I know that the games can be better than they were, and I know I need money to make them the way I want to. I’m not sure if you’ve heard yet, but there’s a Kickstarter currently going on for Remakes of Exoptable Money and Presentable Liberty, the first 2 games in the Menagerie series. ![]() There’s 10 days left now, and only €3979/€12000 have been raised so far. This is the third and final attempt at launching this Kickstarter, and if it doesn’t get funded in time, the games simply won’t happen. For promoting this third Kickstarter, I actually created a full new free spinoff game, Menagerie: Archive. However, not nearly enough people are aware that this is happening, and I’ve been struggling to get the word out. If you care about this happening but can’t support the Kickstarter directly, please just tell people about it. ![]() I created Menagerie: Archive to give you something to share alongside the Kickstarter, and so far, I feel like it has hardly reached a fraction of the people who would actually be interested in it. The majority of the games’ audience came from the videos by Markiplier and Jacksepticeye, so I will tag the two here. I have been reluctant to do so because I can imagine that being somewhat annoying for them, but I’m running out of options and have no way to ask them for permission or help. I’ve never made anything else that resonated with So here the Kickstarter Page: Īnd here’s a link to Menagerie: Archive: īottom line, if you care about this series, please tell as many peopleĪbout it as you can.
